The idea behind the database is to provide the following resources to law enforcement:
Centralized Encrypted Repository: Unified secure database for law enforcement use with scanning tools for easy case uploading.
AI Pattern Detection Engine: Machine learning algorithms to search incident reports across the country to link serial offenders and patterns and provide the information to individual agencies.
Consistent Data Collection: Centralized “hub” to collect and maintain accurate data on cold case statistics.
